The Drowsy Chaperone
Human Race Theatre Co./Victoria Theatre Assoc.
Dayton, OH
About the Work:
What started as a spoof of old musicals among friends became a tribute to the great American musical, winning the 2006 Tony Awards® for Best Book and Best Score--and leaving audiences laughing hysterically along the way! It all begins when a die-hard musical theatre fan plays his favorite cast album, a 1928 smash hit called The Drowsy Chaperone, and the show magically bursts to life--right there in his one-room apartment!
My Role:
I play Aldolpho. The part Danny Burstein originated on The Broadway. I am only occupying the role. It's like a very nice sub-let, beautifully furnished, nicely lit, I've moved a house plant or two and put clean sheets on the bed. Any communications from either the Latin or Asian Anti-defamation Leagues should be addressed directly to... oh, to me, I guess. I'll take the bullet. it's the least I can do.
