Four years ago I was on the road with the first national tour of Memphis. I was carrying three ukuleles with me. I was also in the midst of an extended creative burst of energy fueled by inner turmoil. I did a bunch of recordings in hotel rooms across the country during that tour. Self-therapy. During Christmas in 2012 I was in Boston. When you're in Boston in December, a tropical island seems a decent dream to be having. Even on a sunny day like this Christmas in NYC, it's appealing.

Recorded in my hotel room at The Doubletree, Boston, MA.
Cover of a great little tune written in 1946 by Lyle Moraine and first recorded by the Andrews Sisters with Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians. I learned this tune from the Leon Redbone version (1987) and his is the voice I hear in my head when I think of it, which I do every single year at this time.
