CELIA MEI RUBIN

I’ve worked with Christopher on a number of auditions. 

A couple of experiences that stand out are when he coached me on auditions for Sally Bowles in Cabaret and a production of Dave Malloy’s Moby-Dick. Two very different pieces, and very different texts. 

Christopher works with the text, not with any preconceived ideas of the “type” of role it is. 

I appreciate that he always works with what I bring uniquely to the text. 

In fact, he also coached me on an audition for Val in A Chorus Line. As a non-traditional “type,” I nonetheless felt that I had a very valid and unique point of view in this character, and he helped bring my audition material to a place that felt new and personal. 

I’m happy to say that I booked the job!
