Gurr News : Christopher Gurr Joins Pittsburgh CLO Summer Season
Christopher Gurr returns to the Benedum Center this summer to join the cast of America’s favorite musical, Oklahoma! In 2018 Gurr played Captain Smith in Pittsburgh CLO’s hit production of Titanic in. This year he trades his ship’s wheel for a shot gun in the roll of Andrew Carnes.

Set in Oklahoma just after the turn of the century, this Rodgers and Hammerstein masterpiece opened in 1943, launching a golden era in American musical theater that fuses story and song together with the stunning choreography of the legendary Agnes de Mille. Called “The Best Musical of the Century” by the New York Drama League, OKLAHOMA! features a timeless score including: “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” “People Will Say We’re in Love,” and the exhilarating title song “Oklahoma." Bringing great classic American musicals to life for new audiences alongside showcasing new Broadway shows through locally produced, professional productions, is a cornerstone of CLO’s mission and 73-year history.
Christopher Gurr is an American theatre artist and educator known for playing a wide range of roles on Broadway and across the U.S. as well as the more readily accessible reaches of Canada.
Native Southerner, Midwest educated, with chapters in Northern California and southern Appalachia he currently makes his home in New York City.
